School Principal, Eric Grande

Eric Grande has been principal of PS 56 since May of 2016.  Prior to arriving at PS 56, he was an assistant principal in District 7, Bronx for 5 years. In the classroom, he was a 5th grade general education and middle school technology teacher. His focus is on the fostering of authentic teaching and learning, the infusion of arts and music, wellness initiatives throughout the school, and other efforts, which results in an enriching educational experience for all children.
 

He enjoys his free time with his family, playing guitar, and listening to talk radio.

The School Leadership Team (SLT) is comprised of nominated parents and teachers who together develop the CEP (Comprehensive Educational Plan) for that school year. This cross-section of team members also work with the school administration and PTA to ensure that the appropriate resources are available to follow through on this and other policies throughout the year. In addition they:
 

  • Provide ongoing evaluations of a school’s educational programs and their impact on student achievement.

  • Play an important role in school-based decision-making

  • Help to make school cultures more collaborative.
