School Tours
Thank you for your interest in PS 56! Tours are held twice a month, on Fridays from 9-10am, and are open to incoming Pre-K, Kindergarten, or Upper Grade families.
Your visit will be led by Principal Grande and consist of a brief meeting, walk through our hallways to observe classrooms, and conclude with a Q&A session.

Applications for Pre-K are accepted in the calendar year that your child turns four. For updates on the 2026 Pre-K admission process, sign up now for alerts.​

Kindergarten Applications
​
Children enter Kindergarten in the fall of the calendar year they turn five, and are guaranteed a Kindergarten seat at a public school. For updates on the 2026 Kindergarten admission process, sign up now for alerts.
Families who have been offered a seat to PS 56 should access the My Schools portal used to complete the school application process. Within the portal, “accept” the seat to PS 56. Within a few weeks, you will be emailed access to a portal where to compete and submit a series of registration documents.
